The Resort

Accommodation

Camunda has exclusive private hire of the full Club Med Miches Eco-Resort.

All rooms feature the same amenities (air conditioning, TV, minibar, private bathroom with hairdryer). All rooms are lockable and equipped with a safe.

Additional items provided that will make your stay easier include:

  • A beach towel – No need to bring one with you, yay!
  • An iron and ironing board.
  • USB plug sockets for charging up your tech! We still recommend bringing an adapter.
  • Shampoo, conditioner & body wash.

Access to some rooms includes the need to climb stairs. If you require a more accessible room or fully accessible room, please reach out to Eve on Slack and she will allocate you an appropriate room.

Room Sharing

Depending on how many attend the 2024 Retreat, there may be a need for room sharing. We will only ask individuals who express an interest in sharing, to share. Nobody will be asked to share if not willing.

Alternatively, you may just want to share a room with a colleague!

For anyone willing or wanting to share a room, there is a section in the attendance form to fill out. On there you’ll be able to express your interest and also state whom you would like to share with, if you already know.

Rooms for sharers will have two separate bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a shared living room. That way, you are still able to enjoy your privacy when you want.

Your cooperation on this is appreciated.

Nature

Our time at Club Med Miches will allow us to immerse ourselves in an untouched cove, surrounded by nature and be truly tucked away from the bustle of the real world.

With this, wildlife has the potential to wander onto the property. You may be tempted to approach or feed animals you might come across, but this is highly discouraged by local authorities.

Whilst the beach and water are mostly sandy underfoot, there are rock pools where you’ll find sea urchins. For anyone looking to swim in the sea, you’ll find areas that are manned by lifeguards. Please swim within sight of a lifeguard.

The daytime average temperature in July is around 29°C/84°F but unexpected peaks in heat can occur. Please keep yourself safe by wearing high-factor sunscreen, keeping your head covered, and remaining hydrated (we will make sure you have access to water and sunscreen). Most days will see a short tropical shower or two, so dress accordingly.

Mosquitos are present in the Dominican Republic. Whilst the resort fumigates twice daily, it is still recommended to use a repellent. We will provide this in communal spaces.

Stepping outside of the resort is not possible due to personal safety. For those looking to run outside, there is a running track on the resort property.

Public areas and rooms are non-smoking (this is also applicable to electronic cigarettes). Smoking is permitted in designated areas (room balconies and bar areas where ashtrays are placed).

Other than that, please always make sure to clear up any rubbish anywhere you go.
